Nicole Levine, LCSW, LISW, CSW-G
A native of Charlotte, NC, Nicole Levine received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Queens University in Charlotte, and then continued her education at Boston University, in Boston, MA, where she received a Master’s degree in social work. Realizing her passion for the elderly population resulted in her earning her Clinical Social Worker in Gerontology (CSW-G) certification in 2010, meeting national standards of knowledge, skill, and clinical experience working with the elderly population. A fully licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina and Licensed Independent Social Worker in South Carolina, Nicole has been practicing for almost 20 years.
Nicole has a compassionate and energetic personality and offers a Strength-Based therapy perspective. Common treatment modalities utilized are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills. Trained in Trauma-Informed Care, she brings the ideal set of knowledge, resources, and tools to help families navigate the challenges that comes with an elderly loved one's everchanging needs and circumstances.
For the past 11 years, Nicole has specialized in Gerontology in her practice because of the growing need for individuals and families needing guidance on old age, the process of aging, and the particular problems facing older adults. Since receiving her certification in gerontology through the National Association of Social Workers, Nicole has gained extensive work experience with senior adults, caregiving, and working with families through times of transition. Through this experience, she discovered that navigating through life cycle events as a senior adult, a caregiver, and/or their family members can pose extreme obstacles. Working with seniors has allowed Nicole to develop a deep understanding of the needs, resources, and support services required for this aging population resulting in Next Chapter Counseling being a preferred behavior health provider for numerous senior living communities in the Charlotte region.
Through their life stories, she has gained deeper compassion, comprehension, and awareness about how the daily stressors that come with aging can make it difficult to determine who we are now, who we want to become, and how we will get there. Nicole understands the transitions we all face, and the need for help along the way.
